Senior / Lead HVDC Electrical Engineer (m/f/d)

Our Client

A globally recognized independent engineering and consulting firm with over 75 years of heritage, expanding its Transmission & Distribution team in Germany. The organization serves as owner's engineer and design consultant for Transmission System Operators, HVDC developers, and utilities across Europe, delivering innovative solutions for the energy transition.

Your Responsibilities

• •Technical lead for HVDC converter station scope on interconnector, onshore and offshore transmission projects
• •Lead the design of converter station packages from feasibility and FEED through detailed design to construction and handover
• •Provide technical advice to TSOs, HVDC developers and utilities, including owner's engineer assignments
• •Assess HVDC technologies (VSC/LCC) and converter station layouts for optimal performance
• •Support grid connection processes and Grid Code compliance across European markets
• •Coordinate with internal disciplines, contractors and clients; present technical solutions to clients and authorities
• •Contribute to bids and technical proposals for new projects

Your Profile

• •Degree in electrical engineering or power systems
• •Substantial experience in HVDC projects including interconnectors, onshore and offshore schemes with in-depth converter station design knowledge
• •Proficiency in power system studies tools such as PowerFactory, PSS/E or PSCAD
• •Knowledge of European and international grid connection processes and Grid Codes
• •Professional experience in consultancy, OEM or EPC environments
• •Fluent English language skills; German language not required
• •Insulation coordination experience advantageous
